3rd Grade (Kitah Gimel) Welcome

Dear Kitah Gimel (3rd grade) families,

We have absolutely loved getting to meet all of our students over the last two weeks! They each bring their own unique interests and experiences to our classroom, and we cannot wait to get to know them more.

We are very excited to try a new teaching paradigm this year. Kitah Gimel students will be spending half of class time with Polly, exploring Jewish rituals and traditions, and half of class time with Sofya, strengthening their Hebrew skills. In Polly’s class, our students have started exploring ideas around “New Beginnings” relating to our High Holidays. Later, we will learn about other holidays such as Sukkot, Rosh Hodesh, Hanukkah, and Shabbat. In Sofya’s class, our students will work through our Hebrew book, The New Siddur Program Book 1, reading both prayers and creative stories. They will also engage in a variety of fun games and activities to practice their Hebrew skills! Here is a link to their Hebrew book so they can continue to practice their Hebrew reading at home.

We are beyond excited to teach this curriculum and to work with your students this year!

B’Shalom,

Polly & Sofya
