2nd (Bet) Class Update

Bet 1 and Bet 2 (2nd-grade)

This month our class has been totally focused on the upcoming holiday of Pesach!

The Bet students in Etta’s class have been practicing the Four Questions by learning to read them. In order to accomplish this goal, the students had to learn some new letters and vowels, as well as other Hebrew reading skills.

In addition to Hebrew reading, the students have been learning new Hebrew vocabulary words associated with Pesach. They have been making pages for their own Haggadah, designing, drawing, and labeling their Seder plates, using Pesach symbols to design their own cover, and planning a game, puzzle, or activity to include in their Haggadah.

In Michelle’s class, the students have been learning the story of Moshe and the Exodus from Egypt. They watched a video, The Prince of Egypt. This was divided up so that the students could stop and discuss what they were seeing and how it connects to our celebration of Pesach. The students learned new aspects of the story while thoroughly enjoying the movie.
