3rd-Grade (Kitah Gimel) Class Update

Dear Kitah Gimel (3rd grade) Families,

We can’t believe we’ve already had 6 weeks of classes together! It has been such a pleasure to see our classes form into a beautiful community.

In Polly’s class, our students practiced blowing the shofar for the High Holidays, visited the JCC Campus’ beautiful Sukkah to shake the lulav and etrog, and learned about how to build a kosher Sukkah. Did you know that a Sukkah can be built on the back of a camel, or on the deck of a ship? We encourage you to ask your student about the other requirements of a Sukkah!

In Sofya’s class, our students have worked up to page 22 in their textbook, New Siddur Program Book I. They also worked on these sentences that they use throughout our class time together:

I want to drink water, please.

“אני רוצה לשתות מים בבקשה”

I want to go to the bathroom.

“אני רוצה ללכת לשירותים”

May I have a pencil, please?

“אני רוצה עפרון בבקשה”

Everybody look at the window outside, is it cold or hot?

“כולם להסתכל בחלון בחוץ קר או חם”

We wish you all a Shana Tovah!

B’Shalom,

Polly & Sofya
