4th-Grade (Kitah Dalet) Class Update

Dear Parents of Kitah Dalet (4th grade) 1 & 2,

IVRIT

This month was great! We finished Chapter 2 of our book and our topic of roots (shorashim). We were able to practice a lot during class time and we now understand the material thoroughly. We are heading into Chapter 3.

ETGAR YESODI

We have been studying and analyzing various Torah texts that taught us about the stories and struggles of our Patriarchs and Matriarchs. We learned about Abraham and Lot going their separate ways and the capture of Lot. We then proceeded to read and study about Yitzhak in Gerar and the argument that occurred between the shepherds over the wells in Gerar. How do we apply this lesson of sharing, owning space to our own lives?

PRACTICE SHEETS AND INTERVIEW HOMEWORK PAGE

As a reminder, for extra practice at home you can download our book on Talmud Torah’s website and have your kids read the short stories at the beginning of each chapter and go over each chapter’s vocabulary.

Over Winter Break, material will be provided for additional learning practice to keep the Hebrew flowing.

Interview sheets have been sent home with your child in order to interview an older family member to help students learn about a family member who is no longer living. This will be an opportunity for your child to learn about a family member whose stories may be unfamiliar to them. Due date: Wednesday January 15.

COMMUNITY AND COMMUNICATION

Please make your best effort to attend regularly and be on time to class. We have only a short time together and a lot of fun things to cover.

It was great to meet most of you during parent-teacher-student conferences and having the ability to share with you what we’ve been doing over the past couple months.

Wishing you all a Happy Hanukkah and Chag Urim Sameach!!
