8th Grade (Het) Class Update

Shalom Kitah Het (8th-grade) Families:

Over the month of January we will be wrapping up our Holocuast studies and moving towards our theme for the second half of the year, Israel. I am excited to share a lot of what Israel is and has been with the class. Please share Israel in the news with your students as you see current events. It will add richness to our class discussions.

I like to share good things going on in our area and on the internet for us to learn from. A couple things I would like to share this month include:

  • Families with teenage Jewish girls -- Check out https://jgirlsmagazine.org

  • For families with High School students at home -- The Letters Project: Conversing Across Narratives with Rabbi Weininger, Rabbi Olitzky, and other Twin Cities Clergy • Sundays Jan 24, 31; Feb 7, 14, 21, 28 • 11:30 am-12:30 pm • Details & registration. This is a course for high school students based on Yossi Klein Halevi's book Letters to my Palestinian Neighbor. It is presented through the partnership of the Jewish Community Relations Council and the St. Paul Jewish Federation.

If you hear of an event that would be good for our class, please be sure to let me know. Stay warm and keep learning together!

Kara

Thank you to Rabbi Davis for joining us this month and leading a great discussion!
