Dear Vav Parents,
Although we have missed a few days due to severe weather, we continue to work together to meet our curricular goals for the year.
In the coming weeks we will begin to study the division of the the united Israelite nation under David and Solomon. We will look at episodes in the narratives from the Book of Kings. Among the topics will be to understand how the Prophets attempted to counsel the corrupt kings of Israel and Judah.
Students will become familiar with the matching of their Haftarah (taken from the Prophets) to their Torah portions.
We will also study the Purim antagonist Haman the Agagite, who was the descendant of King Agag of Amalek, whom King Saul failed to annihilate hundreds of years earlier.
