Shalom Talmud Torah Families!
First of all, I want to thank you all for the outpouring of support I have received since accepting the Head of School position. Knowing so many members of our community before stepping into this role has certainly been a plus but, I want to encourage those of you that I have not met or do not know in this capacity, to reach out to me and introduce yourselves. I believe that the continued long term success of Talmud Torah depends on building strong relationships within our community and to the greater Jewish world.
As an educator, it warms my heart to walk into our classrooms and see children who are engaged, reading and speaking Hebrew, and having thoughtful and deep discussions, all while laughing and having fun with their peers! Getting to know the students and the staff at Talmud Torah has been the highlight of my days. Watching and participating in all of the numerous Hanukkah celebrations was one of my favorite parts of the job so far! I have enjoyed learning about the school and seeing all the behind the scenes workings that I never thought about as a member of the Jewish community or a student (many years ago!) The passion for educating our youth that is exuded from our staff is contagious and hard to deny.
Having grown up in this community and attending Talmud Torah from 2nd grade through High School, the lessons and relationships I have built from this foundation are strong. To see how Talmud Torah and it's staff have adapted and grown to meet the unique needs of our students is inspiring and it strengthens my commitment to guide our school into the future. By exploring what is working well and the ever changing climate of our world, I am confident that we are able to equip all of our students with the foundation and lifelong tools for living an intentionally Jewish life.
Please never hesitate to reach out to me for any reason. I wish all of you a happy, healthy, and safe 2022!
B'Shalom!
